sn 9at9 jordan remastered 1 Sneaker News NINE@NINE: Air Jordans We Hope to See Remastered

Last week, news broke that Jordan Brand would be “remastering” the retro line beginning in Spring 2015. This process focuses on reorienting the brand’s retro offerings towards a higher standard of quality, which will be achieved through production processes that place greater emphasis on uniformity and adherence to the original molds, materials, and shapes that Michael played in. It’s a move that the community of Air Jordan fanatics has been waiting on for years, and one that’s been celebrated early on (Save for the word regarding the 10%-15% price increase). The news regarding the remastering even came with some promised models for 2014: Air Jordan 4s, Air Jordan 7s, and Air Jordan 10s.

Air Jordan 7 Retro Cleat

Not to say that every year isn’t filled with exciting releases from the Jumpman, but next year in particular will be a big one thanks to the brand celebrating its 30th anniversary. Another notable addition to the already busy year is the fact that the Air Jordan 7 will be getting the nod as a featured retro thanks to its 23rd anniversary (much like Mike’s Air Jordan 6 this year). It looks like the Jumpman wants the silhouette to spread its influence to the field, as the seventh signature will be getting its own cleat form. This pair keeps things simple with a black leather base and contrasting grey tongue while the branding gets struck with white. Are you excited about the prospect of the Air Jordan VII becoming a cleat much like other models have in the past? Stick around after the click for a better view and let us know your thoughts in the comments section.

Jordan Brand has answered the calls for higher quality Air Jordan retros with their “remastering” of the line that’s being prepped for Spring 2015. This newly unveiled initiative is part of a concerted effort to work closer with factories to produce sneakers that sport the shape, stitching, lines, and the like that are uniform and up to the quality demanded by their “engineered to the exact specifications of championship athletes” motto (Or briefly, as close to “OG” as possible). Included in the range will be the Air Jordan 4, Air Jordan 7, and the Air Jordan 10 for Spring 2015 – particularly the “Columbia”, “French Blue”, and a new Red/Black/Grey colorway in respective order.

A new focus on quality will mean a price increase though – expect a jump from “10%-15% depending on the model”. This is certainly great news for those who cherish the original quality of Air Jordans, so see get a preview of these 2015 Jordans and then head to Sole Collector to read more on the upcoming remastering of Jordan Brand in their 30th anniversary year.

best jordan retros Close Calls: 10 Air Jordan Retros That Could Pass as OGs

With Air Jordans and just about every other sneaker you’d want to collect, the original releases are among the most valuable. OG Jordans have the mystique of premium quality from a bygone era. The top-notch materials themselves along with the fact that those classic pairs feature the ‘NIKE AIR’ branding that remains elusive on Retros, means that serious sneakerheads have either worn or stockpiled every pair out there with demand well exceeding supply. Just a few days ago, we saw the asking price for an original set of Air Jordan VIs with fully wearable sole swaps average over $1000/pair.
