Andrew Rizzo Many consider the Air Jordan 7 “Miro” one of the biggest Jordan releases of the year, the first retro of a certified grail with multiple layers of meaningful storytelling. Following news of its return earlier this year, official images now bring us one step closer to launch.
Purists will be happy to hear the 2026 edition look pretty much identical to the original, though a slight shape difference is likely. The “Miro” 7s originally released in 2008 for the Beijing Olympics, drawing inspiration from the colorful artwork of Barcelona’s Joan Miró, specifically his sculpture Dona i Ocell (Woman and Bird). Barcelona’s place in sneaker history was cemented in 1992 by the Michael Jordan-led “Dream Team,” thus making the reference a natural one. The colors of the Dona i Ocell sculpture also happen to align with those of the Olympic rings, carried through the various painted elements throughout. Multicolor laces return as another focal point, as does Michael Jordan’s Team USA jersey number 9 on the heel.
The Air Jordan 7 “Miro” is expected to release July 10th, 2026 for $255, pushed back from the initially reported June date. It’s not yet clear how many pairs will be available or how many retailers will carry stock, but given the original was limited to just 1,000 units, scarcity could very well be in play.
