What made the news more intriguing was promises that the shoe would feature “an athlete” prominently; whether we could’ve predicted who is a different matter entirely.
It’s hard to miss the visage of Iron Mike in the ring, spread across both the lateral and medial sides of this pair. While any image of Tyson in his prime would’ve been a suitable choice, this shoe reaches for the very start: his “Judgement Day” TKO of Trevor Berbick, which granted the then-20-year-old his first Undisputed heavyweight title. Overall, this Dunk almost echoes the graphic Air Force 1s that Nike Basketball printed in the mid-aughts.
