UNDFTD x Fragment Design x Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star

Upon seeing their most recent revelation, Sneaker News noted that UNDFTD has authored a heckuva lot of Puma Clydes in the last year or so.  Nine packs in ten months is quite a spread by anyone’s standards, but that doesn’t mean that eight in a slightly longer period is anything to scoff at, either.   The latest Five Strikes collab with the One Star brings in a name familiar to Nike Sportswear followers to freshen up one of the all-time greats.  The UNDFTD x fragment design x Converse Chuck Taylor All Star is completely dipped in red save its signature white vulc sole, which means everything from the eyelets to the foxing is Cincinatti’d, including the Chuck’s signature medial ankle patch, in this case a premium leather.  This could’ve been a solid Valentine’s Day drop, but what separates this design from some of the more transient V-Day fare is that a February 24th release doesn’t date these at all.  Undefeated Head of Design KB Lee showed off a few other photos that you can see after the jump; is their monochrome approach to the All Star a hit?

UNDFTD and fragment design have both hooked up with Converse in the past, although when that went down it was independent of any involvement from each other. So did Eddie Cruz recently bump into Hiroshi Fujiwara in the halls of the All Star HQ or what? While that probably isn’t exactly how it went down, either way we can tell you that the trio is has something in the works. So far the details are minimal, but expect them to be of the Chuck Taylor persuasion and predominantly red. Follow us after the jump for the shots and let us know if you’re eager to see how the UNDFTD x fragment design x Converse collabo pans out. via Eddie Cruz

How’s this for the latest collaboration between Nike Sportswear and fragment design: take a model that’s most easily distinguished from the Blazer by its unique asymmetrical toecap, remove its Swooshes and similarly eschew the familiar lightning bolt logo that we’ve come to expect from Hiroshi Fujiwara’s design consult.  The result is a duo of crisp fragment x Nike All Court II Mids, both navy and white canvas pairs of which have been secured with white stitching, and add a jeans-like ‘FRGMT’ tag to their medial eyelets for the subtlest of co-brands.  Click through so you can see more of both pairs, then search out a Tier 0 retailer like SneakersNStuff to get your hands on a pair today.

Hiroshi Fujiwara’s selections for his various Nike collaborations for 2011 have been anything but predictable. This year he started out on a tennis tear, with various fragment design flavored All Courts and the like hitting shelves. More recently his focus has shifted to the Nike ACG line, first with the Nike Air Magma Zip and now with the Nike Zoom Meriwether. The two pairs from the drop feature a nappy suede on top that replaces the typical outdoorsy looks for this hiker with a more street ready get up. Check out the detailed photos after the jump and grab them before they’re gone from SNS.

Experienced sneakerheads can instantly spot the Nike Air Magma’s influence on the recently debuted ACG Zoom Meriwether, and with that new model set to hit retailers soon in a couple of fragment design-ed colorways, it’s only right to see the same on its forebear.  The fragment design x Nike Air Magma Zip adds one of the Meriwether’s key features to allow easier on-and-off with the notoriously clean Magma, its newly placed medial zippers the first time we’ve seen a color accent on its familiar silhouette other than the laces and lining.  Check out Dark Obsidian and Matte Silver suede editions along with a black leather pair in greater detail after the jump and look for these at select Nike Sportswear retailers in December.

It was just last week that Sneaker News gave you a close-up look at the upcoming Air Magma Zip created in collaboration with fragment design, a model that takes a cue from something brand new from Nike All Conditions Gear.  It’s a fitting tribute to the Nike ACG Zoom Meriwether that its own body is something like an updated take on the Magma’s sweeping suede silhouette, these two simple Hiroshi Fujiwara-styled colorways quite a bit calmer than what likely comes to mind when you picture ‘Nike ACG’.  Check them out in greater detail following the jump below and stick with Sneaker News for word on the US release date.  via Kasina

fragment design x Nike Air Magma Zip – New Images

Hiroshi Fujiwara’s approach to colorizing Nike Sportswear models can be best described as ‘simple’ – with the exception of that co-partnership with Supreme on those All Court Lows. It’s the lifestyle-based models where Hiroshi truly shines, mastering the clean and simple motif with great colorways, but he manages to throw a bit of excitement as seen on this Nike ACG Air Magma. By using a bone grey tonal upper with a unexpected bright yellow zipper on the medial wall, the Fujiwara-led fragment design completes this Air Magma with individualistic perfection that has garnered his label a reputation as one of the best in the business. We showed some aerial shots of these last month, but here we have a look at some better angles, so take a look and let us know what you think.
