Nike’s history at the Olympic Games has been impressive to say the least; a look at the Team USAB ‘Dream Team’ Collection from just a few moments ago will show you that the patriotic U.S.A. colorways will only accentuate the beauty and bravado of a sneaker or a piece of apparel, and this viewing of the 2012 Team USAB Footwear and Uniform Collection should be affirmation that Nike’s relevance to the biggest international sports stage in the world will only grow stronger.
Here is a first look at the Team USAB Footwear and Uniform Collection by Nike Basketball; the Nike Hyperdunk 2012, which we unveiled earlier, will be the anchor of Team USA’s footwear (modeled by LeBron James and Deron Williams), joined by signature models of the Nike Zoom Kobe VII, and the Nike Zoom KD IV. The Hyper Elite uniforms, constructed of 100% recycled polyester material, are designed with Nike Aerographics that allows for maximum cooling, flexibility, and circulation. Also seeing action is the Nike Pro Combat Hyperstrong 2.0 Vis-Deflex. Continue reading for a detailed look at the Nike USAB Hyper Elite Uniforms and Footwear and be sure to stick with Sneaker News for more updates regarding all of Nike’s products for the 2012 Olympics.

After his ‘statistically significant’ performance Sunday night, we’re left with a fresh reminder of how truly special of a player Kevin Durant really is. The next question in his growing legacy is whether KD will ascend to the ranks of All-Star MVPs in Sunday’s game, joining the likes of Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. Durant’s already on par with them when it comes to Nike Basketball signatures, his Nike Zoom KD IV ‘All-Star’ just as much of a standout as the ‘Galaxy’-themed Zoom Kobe VIIs and LeBron 9s. The Durantula’s ASG PEs is silver in honor of the astronauts of NASA’s Gemini Project, particularly Gemini 5 flight commander and Oklahoma native Gordon Cooper. Each of the ‘big three’ sigs will arrive at select retailers like LA’s Millennium Shoes on Friday, February 24th, and just like the ASG two days later, the question remains whether KD will get picked over KB and LBJ (or will you try to grab all three?).

Did any NBA ballers partake in what might be the biggest sneaker release day ever? We did spot a bunch of players wearing the Air Jordan X ‘Old Royal’, but that was just the tip of the iceberg because this weekend might’ve been the most heat-filled week of the season. Jordan Crawford, who has quietly built a solid rep as a sneakerhead to look out for, wore the Nike Air Foamposite One ‘Metallic Red’, while new pick-up Reggie Williams of the Charlotte Bobcats wore the Nike Zoom KD IV ‘Year Of The Dragon’. Other heat included Paul George’s Jordan Spiz’ike ‘Bordeaux’, while Utah youngsters C.J. Miles and Enes Kanter jazzed it up with the Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’. Ray Allen wore the Air Jordan 2011 A-Flight, Chris Paul dazzled in a nice PE of the CP3.V, and Delonte West maintained the tempo with the Air Max Uptempo. Can’t end an NBA Feet without a Jeremy Lin mention, because he took down the Lakers and the T-Wolves with the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 Low. We’ve got a whole lot more for you below, so peep the best of the weekend after the jump and let us know who laced up the sickest kicks! via Yahoo!

He might not win the scoring title this year, but is Kevin Durant the NBA’s most valuable player? His Oklahoma City Thunder sit atop the Western Conference and own the league’s best winning percentage, and KD just secured his third straight All-Star nod and second straight start. We’ve also noticed his Nike Basketball signature series take a leap with more hit colorways than ever before, and his Nike Zoom KD IV ’All-Star’ is likely to satisfy fans of the ‘Nerf’ and ‘Weatherman’ standouts. The ‘All-Star’ KD IV is arguably the calmest of the Swoosh’s ‘big three’, but it still bears clear signs of the (all-)star/galaxy/NASA/Orlando theme that itself might be the best ASG pack we’ve seen come down from Beaverton. Notable details include the tongue tag, speckled midsole and the wild interplay of metallic silver upper and translucent blue bottom with orange peeking through as yet more proof that 2012 won’t look like any of the All-Star Games in recent memory. It seems like not a month has gone by since the original release of the Nike Zoom KD IV without a must-have colorway hitting the shelves. We’ve been keeping you in tune with Nike’s Black History Month 2012 collection so you should already about the Nike Zoom KD IV ‘Black History Month’ which is on its way for a February 11th release. The low cut sneaker sees the African designs running along the strap, extending the length of the bottoms, and heavily applied on the inner lining as well. With so many sick releases under it’s belt already, is the Nike Zoom KD IV the runaway contender for the best signature sneaker in 2012? We’ll keep you up to date on that race, but until then hit the jump for some extra shots as well as a video preview of the BHM colorway, which is beginning to pop up at accounts like Millenium Shoes.

We’re certain that many Zoom KD fans attempted the ‘Creamsicle’ colorway once the Nike Zoom KD IV iD became available, but without the orange option on the strap, dreams of the Creamsicle melted away. This takes us back to that curious colorway that was spotted in mid-December, until Leo Chang himself said that they were neither a Creamsicle colorway nor a releasing shoe; here we have some up-close shots of this sample – a super-bright red tone with blue accents on the KD-specific branding as well as on the Swoosh and the midfoot plate. Like the prototype ‘Hyperfuse’ sample that was presented earlier this week, this KD IV sample features that Hyperfuse netting material on the heel. We’ve got an extra angle for you below so take a look and let us know what you think. via solecollector
