As we mentioned in our previous entry on the Air Jordan 1 Low Phat – Black – Varsity Red – Cement Grey, a white colorway will also be dropping this coming weekend. The two colorways kick off a new variation of the Air Jordan 1 with the two colorways utilizing the infamous elephant print and colors from the Air Jordan III. This new “Phat” model pays homage to Air Jordan’s past as an impromptu skate shoe. In the 80’s, before there were the big name skate shoe companies, many skated in the Air Jordan 1 as there were few alternatives available. All the pieces of the Air Jordan 1 are in place and little has changed, silhouette wise, but additional padding has been added to the innards and to the tongue. This is similar to what was done to the Nike Dunk as it was slowly converted into the Nike SB version. Both colorways will only be available at select Jordan retailers but of course we found them on eBay early.
