Nike Blazer 2K9 – Black – White – Metallic Gold

While 2008 was ‘The Year of the Dunk’ and your author has repeatedly called out the critical mass reached by the use of nylon this annum, I might have to concede that the Nike Blazer is making a strong case to usurp the throne.  ‘Year of the Blazer’ or not, we’re seeing one of Beaverton’s oldest models in a ton of fascinating new designs and colourways.  This one is another hybrid model: the Nike Blazer 2K9 incorporates design elements from the Huarache 2K4 basketball sneaker into something distinctly new.  A ribbed and textured side panel finds its grounding in a simple black suede toe, while white and gold trim add a little colour.
