On the heels of Kobe Bryant’s successful tour of Asia, Jordan Brand will be hosting an Asian tour of their own with Chris Paul visiting several destinations in China. The visit will take place the first week in August to coincide with the release of the special China edition of the CP3.II that we showed you yesterday. Chris will be visiting the cities of Tianjin and Guangzhou beginning on August 2nd to meet with young Chinese b-ballers to talk tips, techniques and the importance of sportsmanship and giving back to the community. The good will won’t stop there either as Paul also has a charity event and a basketball court dedication on the agenda as well. The young superstar and Olympic Gold medalist is understandably excited about the chance to further spread his international wings and had this to say about the upcoming trip.
“I’m looking forward to being in China again and getting a chance to see firsthand how young point guards handle their skills on the court. I understand these young players from all over China are very talented and will be joining me in Tianjin and Guangzhou to demonstrate their skills. The runner-up team at last year’s Take on the World Tournament was from Guangzhou and I can still remember how well they played. I look forward to seeing their progress and will encourage them to improve not only in their basketball skills but also in life, so that they can excel both on and off the court.”
In related news, the China edition of the CP3.II that was originally reported to be a China exclusive will actually be hitting U.S. House of Hoops locations after all. They drop in China on August 3rd, so you might want to keep an eye out next week.
