The buzz for the long awaited AJKO has died down now that it has finally released.  Though the on-going discussion is over the use of the vintage sole continues, many of us were pleased by the outcome, mainly in part because there haven’t been any previous retros to compare to.  Most as just happy to finally be able to rock a rare shoe that hasn’t been available for 25 years.  But that’s neither here nor there.  Here’s a comprehensive side-by-side comparison of both the original and retro productions.  While the canvas is pretty spot on, you’ll notice the difference lies in the quality of leather.  Obviously the ’85 version has weathered due to time, but you can see it was originally much softer than this year’s.  It’s even more clear on the Swoosh; take a look at the much better pebbled leather on the original.  In light of it being inaccessible to the majority of sneakerheads until now, you may have overlooked a major difference in the sole.  Look at the OG and see that its sole is more like a narrow Air Force 1, rather than what everyone assumed it to be like a traditional Air Jordan 1.  However, this might be just a detail only the purists will fester over.  The Take a full look and let us know how the new retro stands up to the OG. via Kenlu
