Following in the footsteps of a rugged Switchback release and a Mid Skool ’77 from the same pack, here’s our first look at the Vans Sk8-Hi ‘Hiker Pack’. We start with a simple black, brown and white colorup that’s got a slightly rustic feel to it, but the key to making these into a legit nod toward hiking boots is the little details. Like the ticked laces that while not corded like your typical boots, certainly get the point across. And the top eyelets have been converted to slip-hooks to drive the rugged point home. But perhaps the most significant shift is hidden on the bottom, where Vans’ signature waffle soles have been inverted to allow for more surface area when your foot strikes the ground. Check out more shots after the jump and look for these at select Vans California retailers like FlatSpot.
