The Nike Air Footscape and its variations have become the world’s most famous asymmetrically-laced sneakers over the past several years, but here’s a new release that pushes the avant garde bar even higher. The Nike Lunar Orbit+ woulda been right at home on the Merry Pranksters’ school bus, cos these joints take unconventional design further than pretty much any runner we can remember. They go with a Footscape-aping off-center look, but it’s a zipper instead of laces and the raised diamond aerodynamic pattern makes for perhaps the most innovative and aesthetically pleasing new runners this year.
