The Foamposite-Inspired Nike KD 18 “International Blue” Nods To The DMV

First teased way back in July as part of a SNKRS showcase, the Nike KD 18 “International Blue” is poised for an official release on January 15th. Boasting a matte metallic finish in International Blue, this upcoming release has ties to one of Nike’s most iconic footwear models in history while also nodding to Kevin Durant’s upbringing.

Long before the well-traveled Kevin Durant got drafted by the Seattle Sonics, the one and only KD was born and raised in PG County in the DMV area. This region is often credited for igniting the Foamposite sneaker craze of the late 2000’s and into the 2010’s; the area is getting a lot of the spotlight for energy-building marketing activations and collaborations, with recent projects with Wale giving attention to local specialties like the Air Max Goadome.

Going back to the KD 18, these feature the same exterior finish as the Air Foamposite One “Royal”, although Kevin Durant’s version sticks to a synthetic overlay rather than the vacuum-molded Foamposite. With black mesh underlays and interiors as well as an iced-out translucent sole, these are as straightforward an homage to Foams as one can get.

If you’re interested in hooping in these, look out for a release beginning on January 15th, 2026 on Nike.com and partnering Nike Basketball retailers for $170.
