The Nike Free was introduced in 2004 as a form-fitting and minimalistic running shoe for the 21st century. Stripped down to the core of the most primitive styles of running (barefoot), the Nike Free was comprised of a thin and lightweight upper with a Free-grooved sole that offered limitless 360-degree flexion of the foot. In Beijing, Nike gathered notable Chinese media to highlight the next step forward for the Nike Free, introducing the Nike Free Run 2 and the Nike Free 3.0.
