It’s generally accepted that A Bathing Ape’s Bape Sta is a direct takeoff on the Nike Air Force 1 Low. All it really takes is one look to see the AF1’s silhouette and sole, so when you see the Bape Sta Mil Low, you might do a double take. The classic two-piece sole remains but resting atop is anything but Uptown, this model switching to a nearly one-piece canvas upper with an eye-placket blocked off by the same piping that runs along your ankle. And it’s on the lateral side of that line where you’ll meet a black/red crest and realize Bape still has plenty of tricks up its sleeve.
