Anfernee ‘Penny’ Hardaway and his Nike Basketball signature sneaker series rose to prominence during a time when you were lucky to get two team colorways plus one for the All-Star Game, but these days we get new Kobes, LeBrons and D-Wades in more different palettes than most can possibly afford. And while many of these would violate the NBA’s dress code policy, it seems fitting that one of the most compelling colorways from the upcoming Penny hybrids are the type of thing David Stern would almost certainly authorize for home games. The Nike Zoom Rookie LWP in white/black isn’t quite as ostentatious as the GITD Luminous Pearl edition, but their pristine Foamposite uppers ensure these will find just as many fans as the glowing joints. A pair of ticked black/blue laces would connect these to the Air Penny legacy quite nicely, though this ‘plain’ colorway ensures that a variety of ballers will be donning these soon after they hit retail.
