The earliest Lunar New Year in over 55 years equals more sneaker brands pushing their Year of the Dragon specialties out earlier than we’ve ever seen, the above pictured pair looking to push the bar even higher than the model that won the Year of the Rabbit and made it all the way to #13 on our recently posted Top 30 of 2011. The Nike Air Force 1 ‘Year of the Dragon’ goes in an entirely different direction than last year’s White Rabbit candy-inspired edition, though the overall ‘cleanliness’ of the previous pair certainly carries over to this new design. They’re crafted in a black silk with tonal dragon detailing, plus a scaled leather Swoosh to compliment the only obvious splash of color on the tongue tags. This energetic palette carries over to the insoles, but the biggest secret might be the whereabouts of a package as outstanding as last year’s candy-themed pop-top. There is indeed a ‘AF1-XXX’ box commemorating the Uptown’s three decades of dominance; should we expect an additional super-deluxe package for a lucky few sneakerheads? Stick with Sneaker News for word on US availability, and check out some new images of the ‘Year of the Dragon’ Air Force 1 Low after the jump. via HC
