How much more obvious can it get that a team hates their coach: a squad who reeled off seven wins in a row with an obscure Harvard-grad point guard suddenly loses six straight, only to come out the night their HC gets fired and win a 33-point blowout that starts another five game streak to the good? Put simply, the New York Knicks tired of playing for Mike D’Antoni, and the team has been revitalized under interim boss Mike Woodson. This fresh burst of new energy can be symbolized by All-Star power forward Amar’e Stoudemire, whose Nike Air Max Sweep Thru ‘Galaxy’ PEs debuted on Friday and have run in parallel with a commitment to winning that now clearly surpasses STAT’s desire for big offensive numbers.
