Nike Brings World Basketball Festival To Paris

Basketball Festival Paris 2012 3

During the 2010 FIBA summer, Nike debuted its World Basketball Festival in New York, an event that included exhibitions between members of USA Basketball and concluded with an international doubleheader at Madison Square Garden.  This summer, USAB will be too busy gearing up to defend its gold medal in London to compete at the 2012 Paris WBF, so the focus will shift to amateur competition in the city that also hosts Jordan Brand’s Quai 54 Streeball tournament each year.

In addition to a Nike Camp and ‘She Got Game’ girls tournament, the courts built at the Cite Universitaire Internationale will host a game between France captain Boris Diaw’s chosen squad and his teammate Tony Parker’s crew.  Later, Diaw and TP will take to the court as the France vs. Spain matchup is shown on giant screens before the festival closes with a screening of the “Air Force 1: Anatomy of an Urban Legend” documentary.  So even if you won’t see KD, LBJ and Kobe competing against the world’s best until the Olympics in August, the 2012 World Basketball Festival is shaping up to be a can’t-miss event, and you can see more details after the jump below.
