The Duanwu Festival kicks off in China on Saturday, June 23rd, but it’s also known as the ‘Double Fifth’ for being the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar. This celebration of the approximate summer solstice is particularly relevant in this Year of the (Water) Dragon, and the New Balance HS77 custom job pictured above reflects both of those themes in addition to the evolution of a concept by one artist.
