The latest release from Supra has an abstract nickname like plenty they’ve released before, only this one happens to have a moniker that refers to a legend without whom maybe this entire company wouldn’t even exist. No single skater played a bigger role in crossing over from the golden era and ’90s ‘extreme’ breakout to the massive skate-industrial complex we know today, than one Anthony Frank Hawk. Tony Hawk is the Michael Jordan of vert skating, a name so recognizable that despite the lack of any apparent connection, it’s tough to see a skate shoe named Supra Skytop III ‘Hawk’ and not think of the guy. There’s even a little MJ in there thanks to Chad Muska’s third Supra sigs rocking an ‘Olive’-ish palette, and they’re available now from the Crown brand’s e-store.
