If you weren’t around during British Knights’ 1980s heyday, then there’s no doubt that a little bit of the context on these chunky sneakers are lost on you. The brand approached the sneaker market more from a fashion standpoint than a tech one – sure they had proprietary technologies like their Dymacel, but the focus was more on serving casual urban youth rather than elite professional athletes. It worked too, the sneakers were backed by the likes of Kool Moe Dee and MC Hammer and could be spotted in plenty a hip hop video back then.
