The Jordan Super.Fly 3 released earlier this month, but with so much going on in the sneaker world at the time, the launch seemed to get a bit lost in the shuffle. Now, on the eve of the NBA season, we’re circling back for a closer look and to share some things about the latest performance basketball offering from Jordan Brand. Continue on for a detailed look at “Wolf Grey” edition of the Super.Fly 3, as well as some notable facts about the model.
MVP hopeful Blake Griffin will wear them this season
Clippers’ star Blake Griffin signed with Jordan Brand a couple years ago and was quickly made the face of the Super Fly line, continuing now to the third iteration of the shoe. Look for a pair of player exclusive Super.Fly 3s on Blake’s feet tomorrow when the Clippers open the season against the Thunder.
The Super.Fly 3 is chock-full of technology
The Super.Fly 3 boasts a combination of lightweight synthetics on the upper with the form-fitting Flight Web fit system providing lockdown. An evolved FlightPlate coupled with Zoom cushioning in the forefoot creates maximum comfort and responsiveness down below.
Inspired Design
The upper pattern is inspired by a sonic boom, resembling the power, energy and impact of Blake’s game with the outsole of the shoe taking some cues from the Air Jordan XX9.
Flagship Performance
Russell Westbrook will wear the AJ XX9, Chris Paul has the CP3.VIII and Carmelo Anthony has his own signature shoe. The Super Fly 3 will be Jordan Brand’s non-signature flagship performance shoe this season for Blake and other Jumpman endorsers to take to the court.
Materials
The Super.Fly 3 features a unique and futuristic textile upper, using no-sew synthetic materials with fused overlays on the toe and heel for added structure and stability. The midsole is compression-molded Phylon and the padded achilles notch creates a half length inner bootie to further protect the foot as it makes cuts and impact with the floor.
