Helping usher in a new wave of punk rock alongside the likes of Nirvana in the late 80’s, Long Beach collective Sublime quietly ranks among the best bands of their respective generation. Debuting in 1988 although not hitting the height of popularity until the mid 90’s, Sublime unfortunately isn’t as commercially celebrated as many believe they should be. Vans aims to fix this indiscretion with their collaborative Sublime x Vans Sk8-Hi; utilizing cover art from their 1992 release, 40oz. to Freedom, created by Opie Ortiz, the base denotes the albums sun graphic along the upper while the Sublime logo works the midsole. A simple yet fitting tribute, the Sublime x Vans Sk8-Hi is limited to 300 pairs and available now at Vans.com and SublimeLBC.com.
