It appears that the spirit of 2012’s release of the Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Solar Red” is living on in LeBron James’ new lifestyle shoe, the Nike Air Akronite. While there was no intention of making this off-shoot LeBron sneaker into an extension of Kanye West’s last Nike collaboration, we can’t help but compare the two due to the Air Tech Challenge-inspired midsole, the cut of the shoe, and even the strap. Here we see the shoe in a brand new colorway that features a multi-colored graphic print (similar to an upcoming LeBron 13), LeBron’s crown logo on the heel, and the FB-inspired forefoot swoosh that has been a mainstay with Nike sneakers for years. A release hasn’t been confirmed yet, but there’s no indication that these won’t release. Stay tuned for more details.
