Fusing heritage design cues with a fresh new silhouette, the 247 takes inspiration from three classic New Balance runners, the 574, 998, and 1300. Hints of all three celebrated models can be found in the 247, which debuts this January with the Luxe Pack featuring premium materials and refined colorways. Let’s take a closer look at the design below.
The New Balance 247 debuts with the “Luxe Pack”, featuring the sleek sneaker in a premium full-grain leather upper with engineered perforations on the toe and a foot-hugging synthetic nubuck bootie construction. The 247 Luxe will be available in brown, black, and white colorways.
The most obvious inspiration from a heritage model is found within the sole unit, which mirrors the sole of the 998 in a more streamlined design built in REVlite foam for a lighter and even more comfortable ride.
Other details that nod to classic models includes the asymmetrical lines on the toe vamp that reference the 1300 and a collar strap design borrowed from the 574 and 576.
The New Balance 247 Luxe arrives in all three colorways on January 7, 2017 at select New Balance retailers and NewBalance.com for $120.
