Copper Returns To Penny Hardaway’s Nike Retros

Updated March 30th, 2017: The Nike Air Penny 4 “Copper” is now available via Nike.com.

These definitely aren’t the Copper Foamposites in aesthetic or by reputation, but it’s nice to see Nike experimenting with that Metallic Copper Coin accent on a Penny Hardaway retro once again. The Nike Penny 4 is probably the most unheralded of Penny’s signature lineup, but there are people who still miss the days when you could readily find ‘1 Cent’ accented models on the NBA hardwood. The Nike Air Penny 4 is more of a lifestyle wear these days, and that’s showcased here through a Wolf Grey leather base, Anthracite suede overlays on the mudguard and ankle strap while Copper Coin piping matches the ‘1 Cent’ medallion on the lace shroud. No word yet on a release date, but expect this pair to arrive this Spring 2017 season for $160.
