Nike has been celebrating 15 years of SB Dunk by re-issuing some classics in alternate height form. Most recently, Danny Supa’s Knicks-inspired Dunk Low returned as High, but this flipped treatment isn’t limited to the First Series as we’ve seen Reese Forbes’ “Denim” return to stores as well. Jeff Ng aka Jeff Staple just posted a Looksee sample tag on his Instagram alluding to a skate shoe release for Holiday 2017, which leads us to believe that the earth-shattering “Pigeon” Dunks of 2005 are returning in High form. This would be the perfect cherry on top of the #15YearsOfSBDunk initiative, and hopefully it’ll re-energize the category back to its heyday over a decade ago.
The original Pigeon Dunks are considered to be one of the greatest collaborations of all-time and certainly a game-changing moment in sneaker culture. While many sneaker campouts occurred prior to the drop, Jeff Staple’s Pigeon release brought the sneaker resell culture to the mainstream.
