Nike Is Calling This LeBron Retro The “King’s Rook”

The highly anticipated release of a second OG colorway for LeBron’s first signature shoe – the Air Zoom Generation – is almost here, and with it comes an interesting nickname. Dubbed the “King’s Rook” this monicker comes with a dual meaning as it represents both LeBron’s first season in the Association as well as a play on words with chess in mind. While LeBron may be the King, he is in need of the strong protection a Rook provides, which in this case is the Zoom Generation – offering responsive cushioning, lightweight support, and increased breathability. The “King’s Rook” will arrive at select Nike retailers like Sneaker Politics on December 23rd with a listing price of $175 USD.
