Puma’s 50th anniversary of the Suede continues with a new Golden Suede iteration that gives the iconic silhouette a flashy makeover. Its boisterous upper shines with gold leather, while its clear white midsole offers a vast amount of contrast to offer up a clean aesthetic. A 1968 stamp can be seen toward the heel of each sneaker to remind consumers when the brand got its start. Golden laces accompany this selection to put the regal look over the top, furthering this tribute to one of the footwear industry’s staples. While this particular iteration is not affiliated, it does harken back to UNDEFEATED‘s 24K Gold Mirror collaboration from 2009 that came with perforated logos and branded hangtags.
The Suede started on the track, moved onto the basketball court, and even made its way onto the feet of b-boys in the 80’s, showing truly how versatile this design can be. Head over to Puma.com or PumaLab on March 3rd to pick up a pair for $100 USD in both adult and children’s sizes.
