The new WNBA pre-season will tip-off on May 6th, and you might notice that the twelve teams will be rocking new threads by Nike, the official outfitter of the NBA and the WNBA. Today, the Swoosh reveals a full system of dress for pre-game and on-court performance in Icon Edition (the team’s primary color) and Statement Edition (highlighting secondary colors) themes, with jerseys engineered specifically to the needs of players. The new fit features women-specific scapula cuts on the jersey and vents on the shorts, as well as an extensive variety of uniform lengths and short rises. Additionally, an advanced, closed-hole mesh fabric with quick-dry back venting for temperature regulation. On an aesthetic standpoint, Nike opted for a wing-like design on the back of the jersey that features sharp angles that imply power and speed.
