Jordan Brand Is Releasing A “Hoodie Melo” 1.5

With this morning’s release of the Air Jordan 9 “MOP Melo”, the footwear buzz surrounding Carmelo Anthony is at its highest in recent memory. Combine that with this year’s return of the fan-favorite Melo 1.5 silhouette, and the Jordan Brand has some serious momentum to work with. Next up for the 1.5 is a stately selection that is inspired by Melo’s alter-ego – “Hoodie Melo”. Done up in a stealthy all-back colorway, it pays homage to the nine-time all-star’s hooded Instagram videos that took NBA social media by storm during his summer workouts. Its upper comes primarily adorned in tech-fleece, while other elements the likes of the heel unit and the ankle collar sport a reverse loop tolling that is meant to feel like the inside of a hoodie. While the lateral side and the majority of the medial side come dressed entirely in Black and Anthracite, there are quick hits of OKC Thunder blue and orange on the Jordan Wings logo and Air Unit.

Pairs of the Melo 1.5 “Hoodie Melo” will arrive at Nike SNKRS and other select Jordan Brand retailers in a somewhat limited quantity on May 1st and will be accompanied by the original hangtag that released alongside the sneaker in 2004. Enjoy an official set of images below and check out our Jordan Release Dates page in the meantime.
