Nike has worked with several international basketball stars throughout their storied history in hoops, but never have they had someone with immense potential as Giannis Antetokounmpo. Nicknamed the Greek Freak, an amalgam of his roots in Greece and his unparalleled total package of talent and athleticism, Giannis is poised to be the next great signature athlete for the brand, joining the likes of LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and other championship and MVP caliber men. We’re already aware of his first signature shoe, which is set to drop during the 2018-2019 season, but the Bucks cornerstone player is already at the center of some fun global events like the first-ever “AntetokounBros” running event held in Athens. Each participant submitted €5 to enter, with all proceeds going towards the ”Ark Of the World” nonprofit organization that aims to protect and provide for mothers and children in need all across the world. Sporting a red and white gradient pair of Nike’s newest Zoom Pegasus 35 sneaker, the four “AntetokounBros” helped design flashy jerseys with the number 34 and other logos and symbols. Check out a few photos from the AntetokounBros 5K below and be sure to keep it locked to Sneaker News for updates on theNike Greek Freak 1 – his first signature Nike sneaker.
