With the start of the US Open mere weeks away, it’s been a busy few months for NikeCourt—the Swoosh Brand’s tennis branch. First, they announced the Nike Air Zoom Zero,a brand new silhouette that offers a revolutionary full length curved Zoom Air unit. Then, they unveiled a collaborative collection with Serena Williams and Virgil Abloh, a striking capsule that contained brand-new takes on the Off-White Air Max 97s, Nike Blazers, and more. Now, the aforementioned Air Zoom Zero has released in two new colorways: a retro “Cool Grey” and a stately “Flax”.
The “Cool Grey” pair boasts a light grey upper, with accents arriving via a large black swoosh on the lateral side and a bright red medial heel panel complete with a large text hit for a striking contrast. A retro NikeCourt logo appears on the tongue’s pull tab, and design details like an exposed foam edge on the tongue/raw stitch details nod to New York Fashion Week and court footwear’s crossover into the world of high fashion. The “Flax” pair swaps out the high-fashion detailing and aggressive styling for a more scaled-back look, with the entire upper and midsole covered in the medium brown color. White Swooshes and NikeCourt graphics on the upper provide branding and the NikeCourt tongue detailing from the grey pair is traded out for a “Zoom” text hit. A small pop of bright contrast arrives via the neon green heel piece to slightly disrupt the tonal aesthetic. Both of these new Zoom Zeros are available now on Nike.com, and retail for $130 USD.
