On Complex’s latest episode of Sneaker Shopping, Atlanta rap legend T.I. came through Stadium Goods to cop some kicks and talk shop — and in his usual fashion, the Trouble Man dropped many a gem, from his thoughts on Colin Kaepernick and Nike to his experience meeting Michael Jordan. When asked about meeting MJ, T.I. mentioned their shared fondness for gambling, stating “He was signing my shoes, and I wore those shoes just for them to be signed. It was a dope moment. MJ is cool as hell. He’s a cool cat, man. We often talk about our poker strategies. We always impart some sort of knowledge and wisdom before we part ways. I appreciate that. Me, him, and [Charles Oakley] have been planning on [playing poker].” The rapper, born Clifford Harris, also expressed his support for Kaepernick without quarter, stating that he liked how Nike drew a line in the sand and was willing to be “on the right side of history.” Finally, T.I. also discusses his assistance with Hurricane Harvey relief efforts, noting how his raffled Balenciagas garnered a high bid as part of a special auction.
