Jordan Brand is calling upon the beloved Air Jordan 1 heavily for their special release efforts this holiday season. From a team-specific makeup for one of the world’s foremost soccer clubs to a pair that draws inspiration from MJ’s first Sports Illustrated cover as a member of the Bulls, the iconic shoe has been re-imagined in a number of interesting ways — the most unusual of which may very well be this duo of “Not For Resale” Air Jordan 1s, in white/black/yellow and white/black/red. Like it or not, reselling is a large part of today’s sneaker game that modern collectors must deal with. Jordan Brand is clearly conscious of this expansive secondary market, and both of these pairs show their level of awareness via special branding. “Not For Resale” appears printed on the midsole in a Virgil Abloh-esque font, while “Please Crease” and “Wear Me” hits imploring the buyer to lace em’ up appear on the toebox and tongue respectively. “No Photos” is embroidered on the heel in thick white letters, while a printed “No L’s” graphic on the insole completes the special branding. Although the embellishments are abnormal, the colorblocking offers familiar touches — with both pairs calling upon white leather underlays, black leather overlays, and colorful details on the heel and outsole. Enjoy your most thorough look yet at both of the boldly-branded pairs below, and be ready for the drop later this fall.
