adidas Brings Back The NMD City Sock With “Koi Fish” Edition

adidas Brings Back The NMD City Sock With “Koi Fish” Edition

The adidas NMD City Sock — a laceless, high-top take on the classic NMD — is known for its flexible-yet-supportive feel and exemplary comfort. It occupies an interesting place in the Three Stripes’ lifestyle offerings as one of their few slip-on sneakers, but it’s been relatively quiet over the last few months. However, it’s now surfaced in a new “Koi Fish” makeup that features plenty of bold embellishments and interesting Japanese-style detailing. The shoe starts simple with a white/grey striped Primeknit upper, but the straightforward base allows the details to speak even louder: a bold abstract black stripe — the nature of which you’d see on one of the special fish — cascades down from the lateral heel collar and across the midfoot/throat. The medial side’s half-circle leather patch gets in on the special detailing as well, dressed in a bold red leather — a possible nod to the colors of the Japanese flag — complete with a debossed koi fish graphic. The shoe is then completed with a simple white Boost midsole and grey bricks. These special NMDs will release on adidas.com and at Trefoil Brand stockists November 16th, with a retail price of $180 USD.
