Ross Dwyer Nike’s React Element 87 was unquestionably one of the most interesting new silhouettes to hit the market last year. Its translucent upper, bold technical detailing, and arresting cored-out midsole with bold plugs offered a look unlike any other. Now it’s set to continue its momentum in 2019 with new colorways, the first of which to drop will be a “Light Orewood.” This new makeup features a fairly simple base, as the clear upper is accented with several sandy tan suede panels and the React midsole is done up in a stark white. However, the simple primary colors are a perfect canvas for the bold accents to make a statement on: a “Laser Orange” appears on the large midfoot swoosh and the heel taping, while neon “Volt” accents arrie on the throat and the midsole’s plugs.
