With spring officially upon us and California’s floral-heavy “super bloom” season in full swing, Vans and pro skater Lizzie Armanto are releasing a new capsule collection centered around the Vans Sk8-Hi and Vans Slip-On. Using a rich lavender as the primary color, each shoe is built from a combination of premium canvas and suede, and also features technological enhancements like UltraCush sockliners and Duracap-reinforced underlays to ensure that they can withstand even the most intense skate sessions. It wouldn’t truly be a capsule collection without special detailing either, so each shoe features accents inspired by the traditional Japanese “Maneki-neko” cat — a symbol of good luck — on the sole. Armanto’s initials also appear monogrammed on the heel for a touch of personal style. Each shoe then is then completed by a unique pop of flair: the Slip-On offers reflective checkerboard material on the foxing, while the Old Skool’s top eyelet is shaped as a flower. The collaborative assemblage is completed by special apparel, ranging from tees to hoodies to hats, and even offering two checkered bodysuits and a black backpack. If you need a new springtime skate shoe, check the store list below: both pairs are available now.
