An essential part of any Air Max lover’s sneaker collection, Nike’s Air Max 97 offers palettes that span the entirety of the color spectrum, and the latest pair to join the silhouette’s ever-expanding hierarchy is this new combo of grey and crimson. The upper is split between dark anthracite and light wolf grey, a two-tone design that uses an interpolation of shades to call attention to each piece of the 97’s bullet-train inspired upper. It also serves a dual purpose of sorts by making the shoe’s healthy dose of high-vis reflective material appear even more striking. The aforementioned crimson hue is then used to provide small-yet-effective punches of color on the midfoot, tongue badge, and heel tab, which also features retro Air Max branding. An elegant white midsole/grey cushioning unit combo provide support, and the look is rounded off by a black outsole with further crimson embellishments. These 97s are available at overseas stockists now and will release on Nike.com in the US soon for $160 USD.
