The ocean’s cool blue waters are a beloved part of a warm summer day for many, and Nike seems to be turning to their refreshing properties for inspiration on this kids-sized Air Max 97 RF. Starting with a dark ocean blue mesh base, these small-sized shoes then dress up the 97’s swooping bullet-train overlays in a combination of aqua blue and teal. It’s not just colors though: the stripes also feature an “I don’t feel so good”-style pattern that starts as closely-knit squares on the toebox before gradually giving way to more sparse dots towards the throat and dissipating completely by the midfoot. Various white accents on the mudguard, tongue, collar, and one of the upper’s stripes then add an airy touch to the aquatic design. Meanwhile, the white midsole is combined with a light blue Air Max unit and a dark blue outsole interspersed with shimmering silver flecks to finalize the look. These new Maxes will release on June 15th at Nike.com and select Swoosh stockists, so check out all their unique details right here while you wait.
