Rarely stretching far out of their comfort zone, the workings of New Balance are slowly but surely changing for the better as they upgrade, retool, and deconstruct their long legacy of grey suede silhouettes with newfound ideas. The newest testament to this is their soon-to-release 996 OG whose classic panelling akin to the more popular 574 comes dressed up in hues asymmetric from the left to right foot. Constructions are, of course, kept true to the Boston label’s stamp of quality as pig suedes comprise the overlays, metallic reflective sits on the “N” logo and heel wrap, and finishing touches refine by way of a smooth leather throughout. Toe boxes swap between shades light an dark with the adjacent doing the same in contrast; heel wraps are either a dark navy or right red as support caps adorn in gold sheen. Grab a detailed look at the pair right below and expect to see it hitting select retailers come July 19th.
