The Jordan Delta SP, an all-new lifestyle silhouette that was officially released earlier this month, has already garnered praised for its crafty construction and methodical selection of colorways. And this upcoming Vachetta Tan, which releases on jordan.com on May 14th in full family sizes, can only be compared to contemporary artist Tom Sachs’ infamous Mars Yard collaboration with Nike. From the bulk of the midsole to the dimensional arrangement of the upper, the Delta SP and Mars Yard share some clear similarities, although the former pushes more towards the high-tech aesthetic with the noodled texture of the React sole, the layered construction, and futuristic branding. What also sets these apart is the “Jade Aura” tincture on the tongue and laces.
The Delta SP is a clear continuation of the 23ENGINEERED program start by Jordan in the Fall of 2018. Silhouettes such as the Proto React and Aerospace 720 are all built with the Future Of Flight direction in mind, creating a dichotomy with the legacy models that, we’ve all come to accept, just can’t be rivaled. We expect Jordan designers to further their exploration down this path, creating products for consumers who F with the Jumpman on both the old and new fronts. See a quick look ahead and stay tuned for the May 14th drop.
