Elliot Santiago The festivities and firework shows of 4th of July are just around the corner and as the American holiday encroaches, Nike has been cranking out a wide array of USA-themed sneakers for their consumers. Especially under the Sportswear umbrella, as silhouettes with our nation’s colors such as the Air Max 97 and Air Max 90 have already been pushed out to the public. Adding one more entry into the unofficial capsule, the Swoosh is now welcoming in the Air Metal Max to take a stab at the patriotic costume.
The “The OG of sneaker luxury” as Nike themselves call it, brings together red and white tones merged upon it upper; the former of which is more pronounced as it blankets its base layer/tongues, while the latter coats the boomerang-shaped midfoot molds, midsoles, and lateral heel overlays that houses its Swoosh badge. Of course, it wouldn’t be complete without any accents of navy, so these see their way towards the treading and heel tabs, and tongue branding to round off its ensemble. Be on the lookout for these to drop on June 27th for their traditional $140 at the retailers listed below.
