Worldwide Kobe fans have been patiently waiting for the moment that his Kobe 5 Protros see their return to the market, and as of this past weekend, it appears that time is soon approaching as his “Big Stage”, “Lakers”, and “EYBL” variations have been confirmed to release later this month. But before those make their way into the hands of Mamba stans, the hoops silhouette is already verifying that it has a collaboration on the way with none other than long-time Nike ally UNDEFEATED.
Clearly designed with a Lakers ethos, the colorway they’re dubbing the “Hall of Fame” is predominantly hued between “Metallic Gold” and “Field Purple” hues. The former is executed mostly through the upper which keeps the scaly overlays intact, ditches the standard Flywire bases for a substantial mesh fabrication, and is complemented with a burst of gradient crimson Nike checks, while the latter is employed directly to the sole pieces and sock liners. Some interesting embellishments to point out include that of the “24 10 8” stamped onto the Swooshes to honor his jersey numbers when he suited up for the Lakers and the USA teams, as well as remixed tongue and heel cup accents that split between his signature snake logo and the UNDEFEATED insignia. Peep a first look here below, and find these dropping hopefully within the coming months for $190 USD.
Elsewhere in sneaker news, the Air Jordan 1 Zen Green releases stateside on 8/14.
