It seems like Nike SB is re-living its earliest seasons, focusing hard and heavy on collaborations and in-lines that seem to be moving the wheels of the sneaker game. While the Dunks continue to carry the load, Nike SB has been offering up some solid performance models with a focus on sustainability – namely the Janoski Flyleather drops and even the Bruin React. But reaching back into the archival side of things is the Air Trainer 1 – the tennis shoe/all-purpose trainer that was modified into a skate shoe in 2003. Polar even delivered a sweet collaboration in mid-2019, but it looks like the model is being re-introduced into the in-line delivery in the best way possible – by reintroducing the OG “Chlorophyll”. Based on the photos shared by Europe’s Attitude Inc. (h/t @nikesbornothing), the grey suede overlays appear to be softer and skate-friendly, while the black forefoot also opts for suede (original pairs were leather). Right now, a release is confirmed for October 3rd and Nike SB retailers in Europe, so stay tuned for updates.
