Since Nike officially unveiled their Move to Zero initiative, the brand has pushed sustainability throughout every one of their umbrella labels. And just as Jordan Brand and inline releases have donned the Crater namesake, Nike SB is soon to follow suit, revealing an alluring and recycled take of what is now the Dunk Low Pro Eco.
Though not the first time the silhouette has used reprocessed materials — see the “Community Garden” from last month — the Dunk Low Crater is certainly the most overt as it bears the imperfection-heavy Nike Grind construction across its entire tread. Scraps of light blue, white, and various neutrals are seen throughout, their shades loosely complementing that of the upper whose canvas under layer and robust leather overlays are also the product of reused “trash.” These fixtures are dressed in a muted grey and dark navy, respectively, while the laces and contrast stitch atop the lace unit lighten with a more saturated blue. Tongues, though of the SB family, are thin like the rest of the collar adjacent, both effectively decreasing the necessary amount of resources.
Grab an official look at these right here, and if you’d like to get your hands on a pair, we should be hearing word of a Nike SNKRS release very soon.
