Paul George’s tenth full season in the NBA is ready to kick off in just a few weeks (the Clippers are taking on the Lakers on opening night), and he just may have some new kicks to boast on that much-anticipated night.
Based on this first look provided by sneakerhighway23, the Nike PG 5 stays loyal to the low-cut stance seen throughout the entire lineage, although this latest iteration completely ditches the exterior shroud seen in the PG 4. Some peaks extended from the midsole, adding some much-needed dimension to the silhouette, while overlays at the forefoot provide the same lockdown that PG has consistently required in his footwear. The soles feature traction pattern mimicking the lines of a heat-map, while windows at the midfoot and heel reveal the Air cushion embedded inside.
A release date has not been provided yet, but if Nike stays true to their annual release calendar, we can expect a launch in mid-late January 2021.
Updated December 22nd, 2020: The Nike PG 5 will release on January 21st.
