Pharrell Williams and adidas have made the fall and winter theirs with collaboration after collaboration. And while the partnership preps the expansive “Triple Black” collection, its past work has ostensibly inspired the latest NMD R1.
Clad in “EQT Yellow/Core Black” and sitting atop white BOOST cushioning, the newly-surfaced pair resembles Williams’ original NMD Hu, launched in 2016. Color palette aside, the most striking similarity between both propositions is the embroidered text running from toe box to just underneath the label on the tongue; as the NMD R1 isn’t a collaboration, it states its name, not Williams “HUMAN RACE” tagline. Nevertheless, as was proven by the Three Stripes’ frequent collaborator four years ago, a bumble-bee-like color scheme is always compelling.
Enjoy official images of this NMD ahead, as you wait for pairs to arrive to stateside adidas.com soon.
