Nike SB‘s collaborations have picked up quite a bit in pace, with new leaks seemingly arriving every week. The pair next up, which hails from Japan, borrows the expertise of graphic designer turned streetwear mainstay Verdy and his Wasted Youth imprint.
Taken with the Dunk Low, Wasted Youth have applied a number of interesting touches to the silhouette’s construction, something relatively surprising considering the label’s focus on print. While the whole upper exhibits elements of patchwork, the overlays are most noticeable in their changes as both the shape, cut, and layering are tweaked dramatically from the original. For example, the toe cap now arrives in two parts, its leather and suedes adorned further by smaller, square-shaped patches. Behind, the Swoosh is distressed at its edges, turned punk-esque to better complement the contrast stitch and piecemeal design. Elsewhere, metallic rings hang below the heel tab — underneath branded type — while the insole pushes edgy, angst-filled text.
Grab a detailed look at these here and expect more details to arise in 2021.
In other news, the Mars Yard 2.5 is being offered to wear testers very soon.
