Although no longer celebrating its 30th anniversary, the ASICS GEL-Lyte III continues to emerge in note-worthy colorways. Case in point, a predominantly “White,” two-tone option reminiscent of a leading competitor’s original sneaker in “Neutral Grey.”
The mixed-materials upper on Shigeyuki Mitsui’s 1990 design fully indulge in a simple tone. Mesh detailing at the midfoot, inner lining and accents around the heel slightly interrupt the tonal arrangement with their light grey makeups, but they don’t detract from the pair’s unassuming aesthetic. Underfoot, sole units mostly deviate from a “White” palette, donning a greyscale midsole, but the ASICS model’s iconic tread completes the two-color proposition in the versatile hue.
